We are documenting the life and work of artist and illustrator Dean Leovela as he completes his upcoming graphic novel, Cassi and the House of Memories, to be published by Viking/Penguin Random House in 2025. Filming inside his studio, we’ve captured his creative process alongside personal interviews that reveal the inspirations behind his work. The project also includes intimate moments with his wife and child, underscoring the personal nature of the book, which is rooted in themes of family, memory, and legacy. Our approach has been to create an authentic portrait of Dean at a pivotal moment in his career, blending his artistic achievements with the human story that fuels them.
